In today's economically treacherous world, it is easy to get lost in the whirlwind of daily life, putting out fires and running from place to place, trying to keep up with all that needs to be done.
It is important to remember to take time for ourselves, time to dream, plan, set goals, and make them happen - no matter how lofty they may seem at first. In fact, most worthwhile goals are just that - impossibly lofty at first! That is, until they are realized by using logical means - deconstructing, planning, and setting steps that combine to create just the life that is best for you.
A Luminous Life's Philosophy
Luminous coaching takes an innovative, modern and holistic approach that aims to increase the life in life - to make each day and each experience become more colorful and more precious.
We are of the opinion that conventional Life Coaching is too straight-edged and dry. We also believe that ordinary counseling is too nebulous and lacks the sense of satisfaction that clear goal setting and accomplishments can give you. Luminous coaching fuses concepts from both areas, as well as a sense of fun, adventure, discovery, and most importantly, individualized attention.
Your initial session is completely free. During the first session, you'll figure out just what it is that you want to get out of Luminous coaching. There will be no list of things that have been previously found and that will be used to categorize you. Here, we believe that each person is unique, and that, deep down everyone knows what is best for themselves. Luminous coaching can help you discover what that is, and by looking at your current life and at the life you want to have from multiple angles, can help you to achieve the goals that you, working along with your coach, will decide upon.
Luminous coaching can be used as an additional tool for:
- physical fitness
- performance in academia
- work performance
- managing stress and stressful situations (life changes, wedding planning, location changes, etc.)
- achieving a general feeling of well-being
...and infinitely more possibilities! It all depends on what you need.
Coaching Method
Although Luminous coaching is not a substitute for medical or psychological services, it can help you in virtually any area of life, and the concepts you'll learn in working with your coach can improve your outlook and approach to goals and difficulties for the rest of your life.
Something that makes Luminous coaching unique is our flexibility to meet with you. Meeting with your coach can fit into your schedule. We can meet for a walk or hike, for lunch, for a coffee, at your home, or even as you run errands! Telephone and video conferencing is all available; you shouldn't be limited by something as silly as distance in the technologically advanced world we live in. Feel free to contact us no matter where you live; whether it's 10 miles away, or across an ocean. We want you to feel the opposite of inconvenienced; interacting with your coach should feel like chatting with a friend, with one big difference - we encouragingly hold you accountable for setting, and achieving your goals. We help you find new ways to look at problems, and at your life in general, and we help you find new approaches to reaching goals and breaking through your limitations.
Our goal is to provide a new outlook and extra motivation for you while you realize your potential. Ideally, we get you ready to take what you learn out into the world; we want to create clients who no longer need Luminous coaching because their own experience of life has reached the point that it is precious naturally; without someone needing to alert them to that preciousness or help them to see things more positively. Our goal is to make the world a more freely and positively thinking and living place, one person at a time.

Our Approach

A Luminous Life offers life and wellness coaching and Reiki services.
What makes us special is that we travel to you - Reiki treatments are given in your own home, which means no confusing directions or being stuck in traffic. Long-distance Reiki, a progressive idea that is unbounded by time or distance (ideal for traveling) is also available at a discounted price.
For coaching sessions, we can meet in your home, over a coffee, for a brisk walk or hike, or even in the mall or at the park, as we discuss what you want to be achieving in your life and how to make it happen. Long-distance coaching is available using the telephone and/or Skype at a discounted price.
Every time we meet the focus will be completely on you.

Reiki
Reiki is an energetic healing technique which uses similar principles as massage, acupuncture, and acupressure. Reiki is done with a light, stationary touch. After a treatment you feel refreshed and invigorated. A Luminous Life Reiki treatments include prior and post treatment discussion about health and wellness, individualized to meet your personal needs and preferences.

A Letter from the Founder...
Hello and thank you for visiting A Luminous Life!
I have known all my life that my calling was to facilitate growth and healing in others. Since childhood my favorite thing to do has always been to encourage others to achieve the dreams they have for their own life.
I finished my bachelor's degree in the winter of 2003, along with my Reiki II attunements. I was also ordained as a non-denominational minister that year. During my undergraduate years, I worked as an advisor and found myself instantly at home talking to other students about what they wished to achieve during their college years. Helping them to meet these goals gave my college career a richness that I still cherish.
In 2004, I joined the University of Florida's college of Health and Human Performance, and during my 2 years at UF I taught undergraduate fitness and wellness courses and served as Director for a non-profit program. Teaching my undergraduate students how to live a more positive life through increasing their own health and personal outlook, affirmed for me that one of my greatest strengths lied in motivating others.
After graduation from UF with a master's degree in 2006, I began my Ph.D. program toward a doctorate of transpersonal psychology - a holistic, spiritual form of psychology. I achieved a master's degree in transpersonal studies in 2008, and look forward to acquiring my doctorate in 2011.
I founded A Luminous Life in order to bring what I am passionate about to others. I absolutely love the sense of exhilaration a client glows with when she achieves her goals - whatever they are. There are as many sets of goals as there are individuals, and it is my firm belief that, deep down, we all know what we really want and need out of our own lives. Discovering that knowledge is often the hardest part - but once our goals are set, meeting them just takes proper time management and the extra push and positive outlook that A Luminous Life provides. I hope that the company can live up to its name with you, and help your life be Luminous.
